Be careful what you think about – it forms your brain structure!

What runs through your brain and nervous system (mental activity) creates lasting changes there.
What the brain rests on, it becomes. What you think you become.
So – the more you focus on well-being, contentedness and positivity, so your brain will become wired, increasingly, in that direction.
The opposite is also true – we have to be careful what we think about! Fearful, worried mental activity and thoughts create a fearful and fractious nervous system.
The good news is that thinking positive, empowering thoughts can begin to create a brain predisposed to well-being. We use our mind to change our brain.
‘Neurons that fire together, wire together’.
The brain has evolved to absorb and remember more of your negative experiences, than the positive ones, a survival mechanism passed down from our ancestors. Negativity appears to be our brains’ default setting. The brain is like Velcro for negative experiences and Teflon for positive experiences. So, we have to work hard to accentuate the positive, but in doing so we redress the brain’s negativity balance, tipping it increasingly into positive reactions, until positivity and well-being becomes a mind-set we move into more and more, until it becomes the brain’s default setting.
Therefore through focusing our attention in a conscious way, we can bring about many lasting benefits in our brain.
We can use the mind, through mindfulness, meditation and guided practice, to change our brain, – and that is amazing!
Not as much has ever been known about the brain – even 20 years ago we didn’t know what we do now about how the brain functions. We have an unprecedented opportunity to rewire our brain for unlimited happiness and well-being, and even unbounded bliss – given time and practice!
